Job Descriptions
First Half = IM through Backstroke / Second Half = Butterfly through Relays
Setup & Cleanup
Report to pool at 7am. Remove ladders, move chairs & tables, assemble flags. Remain after the conclusion of the meet to rearrange equipment so that the pool can open again.
Concessions
Help sell food & beverages. First half begins at 8am. Second half remains through meet cleanup.
Stroke & Turn
Watch swimmer’s form and disqualify the swimmer if the stroke and/or turn does not meet current USA Swimming guidelines. Training required.
Timer
Using a stopwatch provided by the team, start the watch at the strobe light of the starting machine and stop the watch when any part of the swimmer touches the wall. Record times on time sheet.
Runner
At the end of each event, collect time sheets from timers and give to the table workers.
Heat Ribbons
Watch each race and give ribbon/prize to the winner of each heat.
Clerk of Course
Line up swimmers in the appropriate lanes for each event. Move swimmers through lanes as the meet progresses. Work with official to combine heats, if necessary.
Kid Finder
Help locate swimmers before their events. Work with Clerk of Course to line up swimmers.
Table Workers
Help enter swimmers’ times into Meet Manager, keep track of the score of the meet, label ribbons.
